Our Heritage

Wanton-Horne Chapel of Peace has always been a funeral home since its original construction. Before it was the Chapel of Peace, it was Rizzo Funeral Home since the 1930's.

The Wanton-Jones-Horne Chapel of Peace was born to Ryton Wanton, Major Jones, and George Horne on June 1, 1993. Developing from a dream while working for the E.F. Boyd and Son Funeral Home, that we too, would one day own our own funeral home.

In 1988, the paths of the three of us changed. Ryton became employed with the H.M. Martin Funeral Home whom I give much credit to teaching me the business.  Major and George continued to work hard towards their goal. In 1992, the ideal became reality when the State of Ohio licensed us as a corporation.

In 1996 we changed our name to the Wanton-Horne Chapel of Peace, Inc. Funeral Home.

Future Vision

We strive to be viewed as leaders in our industry and the community. Our blueprint for future modifications and adaptations to our facilities, staff, and grounds are ever evolving to meet the changing needs of the community.
